Formally announced the launch of Leisure Leagues in Pakistan. He emphasized that Pakistan is rich in talent, and that Leisure Leagues will provide a global platform for all football enthusiasts in the country. He further declared that, with the help of Allah, they will make sure that the hidden talents of the nation are revealed through this platform. Moreover, Mr. Trunkwala also mentioned that they are looking forward to a bright future with the sport and that all the necessary measures will be taken to make sure it is accessible to everyone.
Mr. Ishaq Shah has been instrumental in the development of World Group’s plans to revolutionize the sports industry. Under his guidance, the company has acquired financial interests in Leisure Leagues UK, and he currently presides over all the developments as the Chief Operating Officer. His predominant contribution has been to make football more accessible in Pakistan by introducing extensive programs and initiatives. With his help, a large number of children, who otherwise would be deprived of the opportunity to play, are now able to take part in football leagues and tournaments.

A DAWN report from June 1949 was titled “Port Trust and Merchant Navy Seamen Draw for the third time.” The report read: “…All Pakistan Haji Abu Bakr Trunkwala Football Tournament at the Sindh Madressah ground.” The start of this challenging and eventful journey was scripted 105 years ago. We are proud of our long legacy of serving national and international customers in varied sectors. There have been hiccups on the way, but we have managed to stand the test of time and rise up stronger after every hurdle. World Group has been a proud visionary, leader, and trendsetter in every field we have ventured into. Leisure Leagues, for years synonymous with small-sided football in the UK, has in a relatively short amount of time become a global super power in the world of 5-a-side and 6-a-side football with millions of players playing in countries as diverse as Greece, Pakistan, Mexico and the United States. Allied to this grassroots phenomenon, Leisure Leagues have also organised the two biggest world events for
small-sided football in the history of the sport in Lisbon 2018 and Crete 2019. Partnering with Pakistan’s World Group has seen the uptake of this popular sport appeal across communities everywhere and has forged a new UK/ Pakistan partnership in the field of leisure which continues to go from strength to strength.
The International Socca Federation (ISF) is the industry leading organizer of international small-sided football competitions for both national teams and club teams in the formats of 5,6, 7 and 8-a-side football.
The first World Cup in Lisbon was played in the Trunkwala Stadium named after the family that owns World Group and Shahzeb Mehmood Trunkwala was elected as the first ISF Honourary Vice President.
